Review: Effects of edible coating on fresh-cut fruits

چکیده

Fresh-cut fruits have a shorter shelf life due to its perishable nature. Edible coating being biodegradable and environmental friendly, provides protective covering fresh-cut fruits. This review covered the effects of edible on fresh cut fruits, i.e., apple, apricot, banana, kiwi, mango, papaya, pineapple, strawberries, watermelon melon. It was observed that positively affected weight loss, titratable acidity, ph, firmness, life, color, respiration rate microbial load in Shelf all significantly enhanced by coating. Being pre-processed products, it also reduced time required for cutting Sensory scores were acceptable edible-coated Literature available extension are not sufficient especially strawberry, banana mango.
